Allambie was constructed on Portion 34 on the corner of Bells Line of Road and Douglas Road by the Pecks. In 1937 the guesthouse was owned by Kurrajong Heights Hotel Pty Ltd and in 1945 was purchased by Sydney businessman, Percy Freeman. The guest house opened in the early 1930s and in 1932 was under the management of Mrs Myers. It boasted “modern conveniences included electric light, sewer and abundant water supply”. Physical activities were also catered for including tennis, and riding, a ‘good table’ was assured. Excerpt from the Sydney Morning Herald 2 November 1932 p. 4 Advertising
