Baker Street, Windsor is a road in the town of Windsor, New South Wales. It runs in a south-easterly direction from the Hawkesbury River at The Terrace, then across George Street and ending at the intersection with Macquarie Street. Up until the 1960s, the street continued as a laneway towards the riverbank of South Creek but this section is now built over.
In her research into the history of the two William Bakers who lived in Windsor at the time, Sylvia van der Straaten has concluded that “it is correct to acknowledge both William Bakers. Baker’s Line named for the storekeeper, and Baker Street for William Baker, settler and publican who had his Royal Oak In on Baker Street at the time the street was named by Macquarie”.
