The home on Grose Vale Road North Richmond was erected on Richmond Hill for Phillip Charley and his family was built by Howie Bros. The property known as Belmont was purchased by the Catholic Hospitaller Order of Brothers of St John of God in 1952. The hospital cares for patients recovering from drug, alcohol and mental illness.
Handsome fernery and aviary have been completed at Belmont Park.
Phillip Charley’s residence North Richmond is not expected to be finished for 6 months.
Mr Beames of the ‘Pastoralists Review’ is on a visit to Mr P Charley’s residence ‘Belmont’ as he is writing a history of the owner, his estate, horses etc.
