Hawkesbury People & Places Boughton Street is a road located in the town of Richmond, New South Wales. It runs in a southerly direction from Lennox Street to Conrad Street. Boughton Street was named after Samuel Boughton, local building contractor, author and alderman on Richmond Borough Council. Boughton was responsible for the construction of the Pavillion (grandstand) in Richmond Park completed in 1884. In 1888, Boughton completed the second storey addition and balustrade for the Richmond Post and Telegraph Office to provide additional residential space at a cost of £869. Boughton was also the author of detailed reminisces of the Hawkesbury district published in 1903. The Richmond Park sign on the East Market and Windsor Street corner was erected in his honour in 1911 by his family following his death in 1910.
