Bullock Wharf

Article celebrating the 100th birthday of Mrs Amelia Sternbeck of St Albans which describes the life and times of the town in days gone by.

‘…the wharf just above the where the present bridge stands known as Bullock Wharf owing to the number of bullock teams to be seen congregated there on loading day. It was not an unusual sight to see workmen from the closer farms carrying bags of wheat down to the boats on their shoulders.’
