Named ‘Swamp Valley’ by George Caley in his journal of his expedition to Mt Banks in 1804, valley acquired by George Meares Countess Bowen who drained the swamp and constructed two cottages there, Bowen attempted to grow crops on the drained land.
A perennial stream rising at junction of Paterson Range and Bell Range . It flows generally SE and SSE for about 10 miles into the Grose Rive r between Paterson Point and Vale Lookout. It passes through Burralow Swamp.
