Comleroy Road Public School

Comleroy Road Provisional School was established in 1880 after a petition was gathered amongst local residents the previous year. The first teacher was Mr Armine Arabin Lees and lessons were conducted in the Wesleyan Chapel, Comleroy Road until the school buildings and residence were constructed. The new buildings opened on the corner of Comleroy Road and East Kurrajong Road (Portion 207, Parish of Kurrajong, land belonging to Thomas Anderson) in 1885. These buildings were demolished in 1966. New brick buildings were opened in 1963 and the school operated on this site until January 1995 when the school was relocated to McMahons Road off Comleroy Road. The old site is now occupied by Hawkesbury Independant School. Electricity was connected to the school residence in 1935.
