Hawkesbury People & Places Blocks of land in the village of Enfield (North Richmond) were advertised for sale in the Sydney Herald on 10 September 1841 at an auction to take place on the ground on the 23 September by Mr Laban White.
The land was part of 300 acres granted to William Bell 5 April 1821 described as Portion 136, Parish of Kurrajong, County of Cook. Despite the wonderful description of the location and potential of the locality, interest in the subdivision was not immediate and the blocks of land took many years to change hands. Excerpt from the advertisement for the sale by auction of the portions of land in the village of Enfield at North Richmond from the Sydney Herald 10 September 1841 Private village subdivided by William Bell.
