Hawkesbury People & Places The property known as Fernadel, located in the vicinity of Buckinham Street, Pitt Town, New South Wales was principally a citrus orchard and was planted by orchardist George Malcolm Greenwell in about 1915. Greenwell purchased the 98 acre property from Bertie Ross on 31 December 1914. The property was then bought by Mr R T Wood in 1927. The packing shed on the property was the venue for community meetings and agricultural trials of new machinery and farm management techniques were often held on the property. Fernadel was sold by Wood in 1945. ‘Fernadell’ Orchard, Buckingham Street, Pitt Town planted between 1911 and 1914 by Malcolm Greenwell. Mentioned in oral history interview of Mr White and Mr Cox in 1984 by the late researcher Jeannie Scott. Please make your comment below.
