Hawkesbury People & Places Glendoon is the name of a 2.5 hectare property located at 1040 Grose Vale Road, Kurrajong, New South Wales. This property was part of William Lawson’s 500 acre grant in 1810. Over the years the area has been subdivided many times. Glendoon once occupied an area of 22 acres and was owned from 1898 until 1909 by Dr Leslie James Lamrock, a medical practitioner who was born at Kurrajong but lived at Kogarah. In 1909, the Rev Henry Tate, Minister at St Stephen’s Anglican Church, Kurrajong bought the property. Rev Tate lived in the house next door known as ‘Arthona’. The Tate family called the adjacent property Glendoon. Following the death of Rev Tate the property stayed in the family and in 1970 was subdivided amongst the children. The land and charming weatherboard cottage, Glendoon was sold in November 2022 which was the first time offered for sale in over 100 years. Please make your comment below.
