Hawkesbury People & Places Gorricks Run is the name of a gravel road located in Upper Macdonald, in the Parish of Macdonald, County of Hunter, New South Wales. Upper Macdonald Road commences on the southern side of the Macdonald River across from the small village of St Albans and follows the course of the Macdonald River. Gorricks Run is reached by branching off Upper Macdonald Road by crossing a causeway over the river a little further upstream from the bridge. The road then continues in a westerly direction roughly following Gorricks Creek until it ends in private property near Yengo National Park. The road was named after Isaac Gorrick of Wilberforce who was granted 40 acres of land along the creek now named Gorricks Creek on 31 December 1834 [Serial 32 Page 212]. Gorrick’s name was incorrectly noted as “John” on the deed. This error was corrected by Governor of NSW, George Gipps in 1843. Many portions of land in this area were granted to members of the Bailey family. Please make your comment below.
