Death in Canberra on 25 October 1973 of C J (Jack) Shakespeare who was the printer and publisher of the ‘Hawkesbury Herald’ newspaper which he operated from 1902 until 1926. The paper continued until 1943 when it was incorporated into the ‘Windsor and Richmond Gazette’. He also started the Canberra newspaper called the ‘Federal Capital Press’ in 1926.
