‘During a practice run between events staged on the river by the Hawkesbury Motor Boat Club on Sunday, the speed-boat Glenelg threw its driver out and sank. There was further excitement later in the afternoon when, during the running of the hydroplane event, Doc I threw its driver out and capsized. Shortly after the race for launches, the Koronui struck a snag and broke her propeller and tail shaft bearing whilst proceeding to the spot where the Air Force plane crashed into the river. These were only some of the exciting experiences members of the club had to contend with on Sunday. Results: - Hydroplanes: Dixie 1, Glenelg 2, Archimedes 3, Ditto: Archimedes 1, Sumgoa 2, Dixie 3. Launches: Maori 1, Jennie Lee 2, Koronui 3.’
