Hawkesbury Navigation League formed to address concerns about the problems clearing the channel to allow for ships to navigate the Hawkesbury River. Committee formed and an annual membership fee of one shilling was decided. Mr S T Greenwell was elected Hon Secretary and Treasurer and the Mayor was made President.
