Lookout near Wisemans Ferry named after the Freddie Hawkins, the postman who carried the mail on the run from Windsor to Wisemans Ferry in the 1930s. According to the letter written to the Gazette by Ronald B Walker in December 1970, Hawkins would invite any passengers he was carrying to walk along the track he had made to view the glorious panorama over the river at Bathurst Reach. The name of the lookout was incorrectly attributed to Harold Hawkins, Minister for Lands in the 1950s in the book Hawkesbury River Sketchbook by Unk White and Frank Caley, published 1970.
