On Saturday afternoon between 4 and 5 o’clock the residents of Mulgrave were startled by the alarm of fire, it was soon discovered that a large stack of wood at mr hession’s saw-mill was on fire. The wood was stacked near the boiler of the saw-mill, and it is believed by some that a spark got underneath, whilst others say that a spark from a train caused the fire. Willing hands were soon on the scene and about a couple of hours of hard fighting got the flames under way. The alarm was raised in Windsor and the brigade turned out with the fire engine…'
