Governor Macquarie visited the farms of the late Andrew Thompson on 2 Dec 1810, West Hill (also known as Red House Farm) and Killarney which he described as being within 2 miles of Green Hills. ‘Killarney’ was a property of 260 acres adjoining Nelson Common.
