Grose Vale Public School opened as Kurrajong (1) Provisional School (Portion ?, Parish of Kurrajong, County of Cook) in August 1871 until September 1875, operated as Kurrajong South Public School from October 1875 until May 1929 and as Grose Vale Public School until closure in December 1976. A new school known as Grose View Public School opened in January 1977 replacing both Grose Vale and Grose Wold Public Schools.
