The track branches off the North Turnbull Fire Trail about 1200 metres from the Putty Road. The easy walk is along a well-formed and graded tracks with only a couple of steep sections and leads to the geological feature known as Morans Rock. About 800 metres from the intersection with the North Turnbull Trail, a spectacular view of the Colo River may be seen with the Colo River Bridge many metres below.

Care must be taken not to approach the edge of the cliff at this point as the lookout is not fenced. To the west may be seen Wheeny Gap and the mountains beyond. Morans Rock is reached about 800 metres further along the track. There is a great diversity of flora to be seen along the way and depending on the time of year, the air may be filled with the scent of acacia and boronia.
