Monumenrt commemorating the 150th anniversary of the achievements of explorers Caley, Bell, Hoddle and Cunningham was unveiled at Mt Tomah on 17 November 1973. The monument was made of Mt Tomah basalt and was erected by the Mt Tomah Society. Festivities included singing by the children from Bilpin Public School.
