Hawkesbury People & Places Pareora is a house located at 7 Singleton Road, Wilberforce, New South Wales. It was the home of Mr and Mrs Charles Greentree and in December 1917 Miss Ivy Greentree advertised as a teacher of pianoforte and theory in the Windsor and Richmond Gazette. It is listed by Hawkesbury City Council on the Local Environmental Plan (2012) as an item of heritage significance. Pareora is described as a fine and intact example of a Federation Queen Anne residence facing northeast to Singleton Road. Set in a substantial allotment, it has a hipped roof with a gable on the right side of the northeast elevation and the left side of the southeast elevation. A bullnose verandah runs along the northeast and southeast sides, between the gables. The house features tuckpointed red brick with a corrugated steel roof. The gable is finished with pressed metal in a roughcast pattern and timber battens. The verandah has turned timber posts and turned timber in the frieze. Fretwork brackets embellish the entry bay. A rectangular bay with a set of three casements with toplights adorns the northeast gable. A pair of casement windows with toplights also open to the verandah. The front door is multipanelled with a toplight and sidelights. Please make your comment below.
