RSL Hall now located in West Market Street next to the Richmond School of Arts. The building was formerly a Masonic Lodge and originally housed Richmond National School before the rural school (now public school) was constructed on it`s present site in Windsor Street, Richmond.
George Bowman (elder son of John and Honor Bowman) agitated for the establishment of a public school then called Richmond National School which was opened next to the School of Arts in West Market Street, Richmond in July 1860. The original school buildings still survive as part of the Richmond RSL premises.
