Longview Guest House opened in June 1930 and was built by Ernest and Rosa Merriman who arrived from England in 1928. The guest house was built on land formerly known as Salopia Orchards owned by Bill Higgins. The premises was purchased in 1939 by John and Ethel Navin who renamed the house Kamilaroi.
