Hawkesbury People & Places Windsor Skatel was a roller skating rink that was once located in Brabyn Street, Windsor, New South Wales and the site backed onto the railway goods yards. It was operated by Charles F Main, an alderman on Windsor Municipal Council and was opened in December 1960 by the Mayor of Windsor, Ald Vic Gillespie. For many years it was a popular venue for social occasions such as parties, fund raisers and celebrations. Sadly due to reduced patrobage it closed in about 1990 and the buildings were demolished. No trace of the building remains today. Records of the operations of the Skatel are held by State Archives and Records of NSW There are a number of files concerning the Skatel including: From 1/1/1952 to 31/12/1978 From 1/1/1978 to 31/12/1990 From 1/1/1965 to 31/12/1965 Please make your comment below.
