Hawkesbury People & Places Located at 108 Grono Farm Road, Wilberforce, New South Wales, the farm once comprised portions 297, 298, 299 and 300, Parish of Wilberforce, County of Cook and were Torrens Title purchases by Sydney Burdekin adjoining that of David Brown. In 1991 the property was purchased by the Leppington Pastoral Company who operated a large dairyfarm on the site. The property last changed hands in 2016. The property includes three farmhouses The first of the houses is a two-storey late Victorian house in a commanding position with views across to Pitt Town. The second is c1900 weatherboard house and the third a single storey brick house. Victorian House
The two storey house on the property is a late Victorian house. It has an unusual design with two single storey skillion roofed wings to the north and south of the main2 1/2 storey wing. The two storey central block has a gabled roof with an attic floor and a two-storey verandah on the west side. On the north side of the north skillion is a bullnosed verandah. The house is constructed of brickwork, now painted, with a corrugated steel roof. Curved barge boards embellish the gables. French doors with shutters and 2 pane highlight windows open to the upper floor of the main verandah. On the lower floor the french doors have no shutters. Similar french doors are also on the north facing verandah. Weatherboard House
The weatherboard house is a single storey house possibly built around 1900. It has a hipped roof of courrugated steel and is clad with weatherboards. The windows are 2 over 2 pane double hung sashes. A verandah (under the main roof slope) has been enclosed with fibro and the house has a rear skillion. Single Storey Brick House
The single storey brick house appears to date from the 1910s. It has a hipped roof of corrugated steel. A skillion verandah is at the front of the house and has been enclosed at one end. Windows are double hung in openings with rendered lintels. The front of the house is roughly symmetrical with paired windows either side of the front door. Please make your comment below.
