Hawkesbury People & Places The tragedy took place on 15 January 1862 when a young woman named Sarah Jane Stinson of Kurrajong aged 22 years, was seriously burned while accompanying her sister Elizabeth in observing a bush fire about half a mile from their home. The circumstances were reported in the Sydney Morning Herald on Wednesday 22 January, page 5 (also repeated in other later articles) and an inquest was held by the local coroner (Laban White) in Windsor. Her injuries resulted in her death and she was buried in the Catholic Cemetery in Windsor. A watercourse about 2km long. It rises about 2km S by E of Grose Vale and flows generally SW by S into Grose River.
