John Walker (convict, born 1774, arrived ‘Duke of Portland’ 1807, married Ann Gill) received a land grant in 1810 located at Walkers Bight, Portland Head which was located at the bend in the Hawkesbury River between Kent Reach and Sackville Reach, near the present intersection of Bull Ridge Road and West Portland Road.
