Hawkesbury People & Places A gorge in the Kurrajong region of Wollemi National Park, New South Wales on Wheeny Creek near the junction with Lagoon Creek. Situated about 5 km SE by E of Flat Rock and about 3 km S by E of Green Scrub. Wheeny Gap viewed from the Ladder Trail off Comleroy Road. Cathy McHardy September 2021 There are a number of fire trails which lead to the Wheeny Gap area. The North Wheeny Gap trail is accessed from the Mountain Lagoon Road which leads off Bells Line of Road at Bilpin. The southern area of Wheeny Gap may be reached by following the McMahon’s Trail at the end of McMahons Road, Kurrajong which leads off Comleroy Road and then branching off onto the Wheeny Gap Trail. There is another access track off Bells Line of Road, Kurrajong Heights, however the permission of land holders needs to be sought as the track goes through private property before entering Wollemi National Park.
