Hawkesbury People & Places Article celebrating 75 years of Windsor Bowling Club from 1931-2006. The club, located in McQuade Park, Windsor is recognised as the oldest in the Nepean District Bowling Association. The first green was available for play by March 1931 and the second green was opened in 1948. The first clubhouse was an old Army hut which was transferred to the site at a cost of £75 in 1931. The new clubhouse was opened on 23 May 1953 at a cost of £9,041 and the old building was moved to Riverstone as the clubhouse for the Riverstone Bowling Club which was being established at the time. Women were admitted to the club for the first time in 1970 with 26 women being foundation members of the womens club. Nora Cupitt was the first patron of the club and remained in that position until her death in 1991 aged 99 years. Please make your comment below.
