‘The Windsor brass band has been engaged by Mr Riemanschneider, the new landlord of the Royal Hotel (Richmond), to play selections from the balcony this (Friday) evening to commemorate his coming into the hotel. The “Boys” are looking forward to having a good time’.

‘The local brass band held their first practice in the military barracks on Tuesday night last, under the baton of Mr G D Gallagher. There were 17 members present’.

‘Mr G D Gallagher, formerly of Windsor, and now of Sydney, has been engaged to instruct members of the local brass band, and under his management the band is making great headway. An effort will be made later on to have it attached to the “A” Windsor company, 3rd Infantry regiment’.
