A convict barracks was constructed in 1820. This was converted into a convict hospital in 1823 and still survives as the former Hawkesbury Hospital building in Macquarie Street, Windsor.
The Convict Barracks at Windsor were constructed by the order of Gov Macquarie in 1820 and were later converted into the hospital.
