A neighbourhood about .4 km S of Windsor. It is bounded by Richmond Road, South Creek and Thorley Street and an extension of that road. Boundaries within the Hawkesbury Council area shown on map GNB 3716.
The name Windsor Downs was approved by the Geographical Names Board following a submission by the Windsor Downs Development Pty Ltd. The company stated that’the land was within the Hawkesbury Basin’ and that ‘it typifies the topography of the area as gently undulating farmland’.
The new neighbourhood comprised the land to the south and east of Bligh Park and bordered by Richmond Road and South Creek. The name was also given to the nature reserve sited on the estate. There was no abjection to the name by Hawkesbury City Council.
