The Census of NSW was recorded on the 31 of March, 1901 and is organised by district. Within each district the names of householders are recorded street by street. Dwellings which are found to be vacant are noted as well as other buildings such as schools and churches. If the dwelling was a tent, this was also recorded in the remarks column. The gender of each member of the household is included and sometimes the ethnicity usually Chinese or Aboriginal is also recorded.
Since the 1901 Census, the names of individual householders have not been retained and statistical information only is available for these years.
